MOTH Friday 7 August line up

Music on the Hill, Friday 7 August, Red Hill Pavilion, doors open 7pm.

Shane Nicholson, The Weeping Willows, Trudi and the Saturday Cowboys.

ARIA Award winner Shane Nicholson is coming to MOTH on Friday August 7th showcasing songs from his brand new album Hell Breaks Loose which is released on the day of the show.

Hell Breaks Loose is the first solo album in four years from Nicholson, widely regarded as one of Australia’s most masterful songwriters.

Nicholson first made waves with rock band Pretty Violet Stain and released his debut solo album It’s A Movie in 2002. Since then he has explored everything from folk to country, bluegrass and rock, picking up 8 Golden Guitars, 2 APRA awards and 2 ARIA Awards along the way.

The Weeping Willows, Andrew Wrigglesworth and Laura Coates, are a couple of old souls, steeped in bluegrass tradition and draped in gothic Americana imagery.

To Andrew, the acoustic guitar is the object that hangs permanently from his shoulders. Laura, for her part, stays as busy as a post-war housewife; complementing her partner’s skill with a voice that ranges from sugar-sweet to evangelically piercing, whilst regularly adding a little accordion or autoharp on the side. They regale their audience with stories of sunshine and romance, God and The Devil, murder and decay. Real music.

Locals Trudi and the Saturday Cowboys will open the night at 7.30pm.

Tickets available here.

Tasty platters, local wines and beer will be available. No BYO.
