MOTH Friday 5 June line up

Music on the Hill, Friday 5 June, Red Hill Pavilion, doors open 7.00pm

NSW-based singer songwriter Melody Pool is coming to MOTH on the first Friday in June.

One of Australia’s most exciting young singer songwriters, Melody won the Telstra Road to Discovery (Best Songwriter Category) in 2013 and has since released her first album ‘The Hurting Scene’, toured the US and Europe with The Milk Carton Kids and recently supported the Eagles on their Australian tour with her band.

Melody made the album The Hurting Scene in Nashville alongside US singer Jace Everett and producer Brad Jones, with a bunch of local musicians helping out. It was quite an experience for the versatile singer who veers into folk territory and has been compared to Laura Marling and Joni Mitchell.

Melody will play solo at MOTH.

Support will be by Lachlan Bryan. Originally from Mount Eliza, Lachlan has earned a reputation as a serious songwriter with a unique gift for plunging the depths of despair and depravity, only to emerge with a heart full of hope and tongue placed firmly in cheek.

He has released two albums. ‘Ballad of a Young Married Man’ in 2009 with his band The Wildes and ‘Shadow of the Gun’ as a solo project.

Recently he’s shared stages with legends such as Steve Earle and John Hiatt, and appeared at major festivals from Byron Bay’s famous Bluesfest to Gympie’s infamous annual Music Muster.

Tickets are available here.
