Where does MOTH take place?

MOTH gigs are usually held at The Red Hill Pavilion, Red Hill Show Grounds, 184 Arthurs Seat Road in Beautiful Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula.

What is MOTH Acoustic Club?

MOTH Acoustic Club is a new range of shows that are held between normal MOTH shows i.e. usually the third Friday or Saturday of the month. Acoustic Club shows are unplugged, intimate performances and will be held at various venues such as art galleries, wineries, churches and small halls. See the line up page for more information.

How can I buy tickets to MOTH gigs?

MOTH tickets are available from the MOTH website buy tickets’ page via TryBooking. Tickets can be printed at time of purchase and should be taken to the show to be checked at the door. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the night of the show (if still available) for $30.

Become a MOTH member and get a $5 discount on each ticket per MOTH gig.

How much are tickets for MOTH?

Generally prices are as follows: Adult MOTH member $25, Adult non-member if still available $30, Child MOTH member $10, Child non-member $15. Prices may change depending on the line up.

Can I refund/exchange my MOTH tickets?

There are no refunds or ticket exchanges available once payment has been made unless a show is postponed or cancelled.

Are shows at MOTH seated or standing?

Most MOTH shows will have a limited seating allocation (at tables) and there will be standing at the back of the room. We do not offer a table or seating booking service.

Can I book seating or tables at MOTH?

We do not offer a table or seating booking service. We recommend early attendance to assure seating.

Is food and drink available at MOTH?

Tasty platters are available to buy from 7.15pm-9.00pm. No BYO. Alcoholic beverages (including local wines and beer) will be available from the bar between 7.00pm and 10.30pm. No BYO.

What are the MOTH show running times?

For most MOTH shows doors will open at 7.00pm. The local act will be on stage at around 7.30pm, the support act will take the stage at around 8.30pm and headline artists at 9.30pm. Please check the MOTH website for scheduled playing times for each show as times can vary depending on the individual artists and the number of acts on the bill.

Will there be food available at MOTH shows?

Light, tasty platters will be available from the MOTH kitchen from 7.15pm – 9.00pm.

How do I get to the MOTH venue?

MOTH is located at the Red Hill Pavilion, Red Hill Showgrounds, 184 Arthurs Seat Road, Red Hill. The Pavilion is situated between the two ovals. Follow the signs from the Show Grounds main entrance to the Pavilion where there is ample parking. There is no public transport in Red Hill.

Can underaged music fans attend MOTH shows?

The programme is directed towards a mature audience and our intention is to provide a venue where the musicians can connect intimately with fellow music aficionados without distraction (adult themes and the occasional course language may prevail). 

We definitely don’t want to turn away any budding young musicians from the opportunity to experience live music and rather than formulate a fixed policy on the admission of children, we would prefer to leave it to parents’/guardians’ discretion, however, all children must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times. Remember that MOTH is also a chance for some parents to have a relaxing ‘night out’ without the kids.

Is there a dress code at MOTH?

There is no strict dress code at MOTH, but we ask that you wear suitable foot wear, i.e. no thongs etc as this is a safety issue.

Is there a smoking area?

Smoking is permitted in the designated smoking area outside MOTH.

Is there wheelchair access at MOTH?

There is wheelchair access via the side entrance straight into the band room. Please ask our staff for assistance if required.

Can I bring recording devices such as audio, tape, camera or film to MOTH?

No, you cannot record an artist’s performance. You would require permission from the artist and the venue as per the Copyright Act. The performance is “owned” by the artist. The final authority to allow or not allow such recording devices on the night is determined by the artists performing and not MOTH.

Can I get a refund if a MOTH gig is cancelled or the lineup is changed?

MOTH reserves the right to change lineups and ticket prices without prior notice. If the gig is cancelled, refunds to existing ticket holders may be offered.

Can I chat when the artists are performing?

No. We respect MOTH artists. MOTH’s first rule is no talking while the artists are playing or introducing a song. There is an area outside the venue if you feel the urge to discuss how good the artists are etc.
